About Me - Rick Lewis
I’ve told stories face to face to more than 1 million people over the last 30 years.
Whether you want to:
teach something
sell a product or service
make personal and professional connections
or entertain your fellow humans
Telling stories is the shortest distance between you and a life you love.
I started Courage Writer to help professionals find their best stories, share them with influence, and enjoy natural authority in their lives.
But what makes me qualified to start a writing community?
Well . . .
I never flipped hamburgers as a teen. My childhood spending money came from hiring myself out as a birthday party clown.
Since then I have:
presented as an actor on over 200 theater stages
spoken at more than 500 corporate events
entertained as a street performer more than 2,500 times
written 5 books on personal and professional development
published more than 1,000 articles and blog posts
and told stories in one form or another, face-to-face, to more than 1 million people.
I also happen to be the world’s worst and highest paid waiter.
This authoritative graphic below clearly shows how the overlap of my life skills has prepared me to be a natural story leader.
Writing on personal & professional development
What I write here on Substack will be focused on sharing about authentic expression, courageous living, and storytelling.
But if you’d like to see some unique things I’ve written on other topics, you can visit any of the links below, or the men’s bathroom stall inside the Taco Bell off of I-17 in Phoenix, Arizona. (BTW, I didn’t author any of the drawings there.)
My speaking website
Presenting to live audiences is one my favorite things. You can see more about my career as the world’s worst and highest paid waiter here -
Things I’d rather you didn’t know about me
(You weren’t supposed to get this far.)
I wet the bed until age 10.
I call myself an introvert to justify playing it safe in life.
I’m self centered even though I don’t even have one. (A self or a center.)
